My Top Recommended Korean Beauty Secrets

My Top Recommended Korean Beauty Secrets

By Aurora August 6, 2026

There are many myths when it comes to Korean Skincare secrets. Or as famously referred to as ”K Beauty” these days.

But it’s sad to say that most women don’t actually have the educational piece that will help them gain an understanding of what to actually spend their hard-earned money on — And what is creating a false narrative that you will get glass skin, because of marketing.

Korean Beauty is one of the most researched and googled trends in skincare right now. There’s no denying that. But common phrases like ”Korean Skincare” ”Glass Skin” ”Glowy Skin” ”K Beauty” have no substance if you don’t know what ingredients you need for this skincare routine.

@Glassskingirlies

I want to start off by saying, through extensive research and numerous focus groups, you need to realize that SkinCare brands focus 80% of their time on 3 things when it comes down to selling you a Korean Skincare product.

Marketing, branding and the packaging. The rest of the 20% should be focused on the ingredients and formulation; but even then, if it’s not an organic K Beauty Brand, this won’t be the case either.

These blogs on Glass Skin Girlies are scientifically-backed case studies to give you the information behind the rose-tinted glasses on pretty retail shelves and Influencer PR Packages on tick-tock.

The blog’s aim is to break down what ingredients work for your skin, what will give you glass skin and in this post, How to achieve Glass Skin without being mis-sold too.

Korean Beauty is not having 1million followers on Ticktock with highly edited caput videos with water drop sound effects of a serum being dropped onto a mirror from a pipette for an ad campaign for a launch.

Glass Skin is definitely something that can help you achieve a flawless base in your skincare routine. Yes, it exists, and so does Korean Beauty.

But you have to be smart about it. K beauty is the ingredient that it has originated from.

It’s nothing to do with the packaging. And nothing to do with the social media hype.

So, let’s get down to the nitty-gritty. There’s no fluff for my glassskingirlies. The two ingredients that I DO, most certainly recommend and will ”Actually” give you legendary glass skin are: Collagen and Snail Mucin. The second one sounds disgusting. Yes, I KNOW. But it is actually packed with hyaluronic acid to draw water into the skin and stop dryness.

Put it this way, if you want glass skin, snail boy, or should I say girl — IS what you need, rapido, too.

It is the secret ingredient that barely anyone speaks about in Korean Skincare, and thats because I mentioned before, people are getting sold pretty little dreams inside packaging, instead of researching what will actually help you achieve glowy skin.

I have suffered from acne scaring for over 9 years, and Snail Mucin was the only thing, well, 1 of 3 things that helped reduce this significantly.

I don’t even wear foundation anymore because it has helped that much. The reason it’s great for this and hyperpigmentation is because it contains glycolic acid and glycoproteins that boost cell turnover to fade dark spots and acne marks.

Yes, I know — Who would have thought something with the word ‘Snail’ would be so good for your skin?

The other ingredient that doesn’t necessarily scream Korean beauty, but will definitely give you glass skin is more known I feel in the market, but again, less utilized. Collagen.

Collagen is used significantly online for ‘Quick Fixes’ to achieve glass skin on a plane (I am positive you have seen those ticktocks of an overpaid influencer saying she can’t live without her collagen mask we all have). But behind the jokes and giggles, the reasoning is quite the truth.

Glass Skin, Glowy Skin, Soft Skin. They all come down to hydration in your skin, and how much water retention you have under the surface.

Technical and boring, it seems, I know, but to put it easily — the more you have a plumpness in your cheeks, the better.

Without boring you too much with the different technicalities of why and how collagen will help you get glass skin. Its main job is to increase the levels of hyaluronic acid in the skin, which binds water molecules and relieves dryness.

I am sure we have all heard of that magical term ‘hyaluronic Acid’ as a miracle skincare worker, but in the same way, collagen does the same exact thing, only this time you can get specific Collagen masks which are indeed part of the whole K Beauty trend, which will make you feel like that IT girl whilst also hydrating your skin.

I wont lie to you, these masks are more of a temporary fix, and your best is indeed the snail mucin.

By far, one of the most underrated ingredients used to achieve glass skin in the Korean beauty market, and the reason surprises me.

It’s not because of the name. It’s just because many people, like I said before, don’t research what is good for their skin. They follow the masses that buy from cheap tick-tock trends, instead of ensuring skincare becomes an investment into their self-care.

Whether you are indeed a Korean Beauty Fan, you have seen the term Glass Skin all over your FYP Page and wondered how to get it, or you are new to skincare and just want to learn how to slowly but surely invest into your skin to make it more slowly using the right products

@glassskingirlies has a community of women that want to achieve the best skincare results for them, without the overpriced promises and social media trend that are completely blurring the lines between what is a good product, and what is a marketing trick.

Glass Skin is a wonderful thing to have. You’ll get lots of compliments, feel confident about yourself, which is what we all want.

But remember snail mucin will help you achieve it in the Korean Beauty world, faster than most products.
I’ve linked below the one I use, Peach & Lily Glass Skin Serum if you’re interested in taking your skincare seriously.
