Today, we are going to educate ourselves on two words that have completely taken over, well at least in the beauty Industry.
”Korean Skincare” has become an international sensation, and for good reason too.
The problem is, not many women know the real benefits of Korean Skincare and why it is so special.
There is so much marketing online, with Ticktock, Instagram, social media platforms that are pushing this narrative that Korean Skincare is the holy grail, the gospel if you will within Skincare. well the truth is @glassskinsgirlies…
I agree with this statement – And in this article we will be dissecting the solid foundations on why Korean Skincare is so special.
(Don’t worry – I am still wearing my Cynical Celine Trousers. I am not tied into Nor influenced by any 30 second ticktock trend so you can trust my judgement that this is actually a credible genre of Skincare).
Many female adults are busy working 24/7.
Adjusting to the grown up world.
Navigating heartbreak, with tired skin, dark circles from life changes and everything else that us women have to endure..
(Deep breathe – I know that if your 30+ reading this post you are getting flashbacks just like I did)
Well, amongst, ‘Lifting’ as they call it, or keeping your head above water, which is what I call it – Korean Skincare is that skincare godsend. A miracle that doesn’t always break the bank depending on what band you are investing in, and delivers real results for women that are looking for genuine skincare help in this world.
To put quite simply it is not packed with super harsh chemicals, or cheap plastic like ingredients that will over stimulate your skin. Instead Korean Skincare is pretty much exactly what it says on the tin – It’s organic ingredients, formulated and executed in the most natural, holistic and skin reviving way.
I have been through the mill, when it comes to my own personal skincare and have seen and experienced many of my friends, my sister even and other females that have severely struggled with wither dry skin, oily skin, acne prone skin.
The statistics don’t lie. Out of a friendship group of 9 of us from year 11, 7 use Korean Skincare.
Yeh, I know – it’s actually worth the money my glassskingirlie.
There is a very specific reason, as to why I started to investigate Korean Skincare. It wasn’t because I wanted to be part of the overnight sensation of glass skin – Although I am proud to say I have glass skin now!
Korean Skincare for me, was a personal choice because not only is It affordable, but the ingredients are clinically focused to not only hydrate your skin surface level, but to deeply fix your skin barrier which is what every single brand and their Pret dog Tom Tom ‘Claim’ To do – But never actually provide clinical results.
Ingredients like Snail Mucin and Centella – However weird they sound (yes I do agree)…
Are actually super efficient at build long-term skin health, it’s just we are so wrapped up in trusting the same 4 brands from the retailer on our doorstep that we don’t do the deep dive research needed to actually use what will completely change the look, texture and appearance of our skin.
And I’m telling you boys and girls (yes we are building an army of glassskinboys too) That Korean Skincare is where it’s at.
I wanted to also help my glassksingirlies understand some of the key terminology that they should look out for when wanting to purchase their first, or even existing Korean Skincare.
Because in my humble opinion, it is sometimes difficult to see which product will be more beneficial for your specific skin type. Especially because brands more now than ever are throwing money on packaging, hiring flawless Korean Models that have unrealistic skin, and so its really hard to look and compare different serums from just the way they look on the box and decide – Yep this one will solve this problem for my skin.
It all comes back to the ingredients that they use in Korean Skincare, and there two words that I am about to list sound like an atom from the periodic table – But they are actually two of the most important things you could have in your Korean Skincare, so pay attention, little miss!
(Drum role please…)
PDRN and Ginseng – My two personal favourites. You might have heard Korean Skincare experts speak about these two things when they have been interviewed on the TV, or through an article just like this one, or hopefully, from your own expanding research.
But These two ingredients, alongside Snail Mucin and Centella that I previously mentioned before, are words you need to become familiar with. If you are ACTUALLY serious about fixing your dark circles, getting that glass skin look and repairing your skin, not just rubbing superficial serums over it.
PDRN is usually found from Salmon, or if you are a strict vegan like myself, from plant based rice. it’s job my glassskingirlies is to help pump and move collagen around your skin cells, which sounds very sciency, but is actually so underestimated when it comes to not only creating the glasss kin effect for your skin, but making sure you have enough nutrients in your skin cells.
(Yes I have been studying Korean Skincare for a very Long time so you’re welcome).
Ginseng is something that if you read my articles regularly, you will know I reference frequently. Infact, I would go so far enough to say that It IS my favourite ingredient within Korean Skincare by far, and that’s because it has really healed my skin, from over a decade of years of deep acne scarring pigmentation that I have suffered with since the age of 16.
Ginseng, or as I like to call it, the Geenie, actually has antioxidants in which increases the elasticity in the kin, but also fades your pigmentation. I know this, because alongside rosehip seed oil, this is one of the things I use on my skin every single day.
(Remind me in the comments to do a whole article dedicated on reship oil, it has been by far the single most benefical thing I have put on my Skin that has helped fade my fine lines which is NOT Korean Skincare or Cream based).
Back to the point, embracing Korean Skincare is more than a fleeting beauty trend; it is a mindful, long-term investment in your skin’s overall health and confidence. I use Korean Skincare, like I said before, my friends use Korean Skincare, celebrities use Korean Skincare, TV Presenters use Korean Skincare, regular teenage girls to aging women passed menopause now use Korean Skincare.
The reason I always say your skin problem will get fixed, isn’t because of how deep your pockets are, but instead how much meaningful research you have done on your own face.
Thats the secret, my glassskingirlie.
By shifting the focus from masking flaws to nourishing, hydrating, and protecting your skin barrier, you unlock a radiant, natural glow that harsh, quick-fix routines simply cannot match. Nor can any overly priced dupe on ticktock, to only use recommended credible products from established brands.
Whether you start with a simple three-step routine or dive straight into the famous ten-step method, consistency and listening to your skin’s unique needs are what truly matter.
Take that first step today, and transform your daily routine into a rewarding ritual of self-care. In terms of my holy moly favourite, I have linked a ginseng serum that will not strip your skin of its minerals, but actually heal its barrier.
Ginseng Barrier Serum (Click on the Link to see the bottle in all its glass skin genie glory.
Until next time my glassskingirlies!
